REFILL INSTRUCTIONS

Refilling HP 51645AE and C6615DE ink cartridges

  1. Remove the cartridge from the printer.

  2. Using a knife, carefully peel off the circular label from the underneath of the cartridge, to reveal a ball bearing.

  3. Using a ball point pen or other suitable object push the ball bearing into the cartridge.

  4. Take the bottle and push the needle into the cartridge taking care not to puncture the bag inside the cartridge.

  5. Inject the ink slowly into the cartridge. An empty cartridge will take a whole bottle of ink.

  6. When the cartridge has been refilled; squeeze the sides of the cartridge and at the same time push the ball bearing provided into the hole so that it blocks the refilling hole.

  7. Put sticky tape over the ball bearing hole, wipe the print head and return to the printer.

  8. Run the cleaning process through the printer software.

Refilling HP 51626AE and 51629AE and C6614DE ink cartridges

  1. Remove the cartridge from the printer.

  2. Using sticky tape cover the bottom of the cartridge but not the printhead.

  3. Carefully drill a hole 3mm in diameter in the top left of the cartridge top (as shown).

  4. Take the bottle and push the needle into the cartridge taking care not to puncture the bag inside the
    cartridge.

  5. Inject the ink slowly into the cartridge. An empty cartridge will take a whole bottle of ink.

  6. When the cartridge has been refilled push the bung provided into the refilling hole.

  7. Remove the sticky tape from the bottom of the cartridge.

  8. The cartridge now needs to be pressurised. Carefully hold the neck of an empty ink bottle and turn the needle in its sleeve anti-clockwise. This will remove the needle from the bottle. Squeeze the empty bottle into some tissue to catch any of the remaining ink. Hold the cartridge upside down and with the opening of the bottle over the centre hole of the cartridge. Squeeze the bottle, this will force air into the bag inside and re-pressurise the cartridge.

  9. Sit the cartridge the right way up on the tissue provided. Ensure that the print head is not resting on the tissue as this will draw the ink out of the cartridge. Leave the cartridge to stand for a few hours.

  10. Wipe the print head and return the cartridge to the printer.

  11. Run the cleaning process through the printer software.

Refilling HP C1823DE, 51641AE, C6578AE and C6578DE ink cartridges

  1. Remove the cartridge from the printer.

  2. Using the screw eye provided push in the 3 dimples on the top of the cartridge.

  3. Take a bottle and insert the needle into the correct colour sponge. Note that with the print head facing you, the colour sequence from left to right is cyan, magenta then yellow.

  4. Inject the ink slowly, pulling back slightly as you inject, to expose the different parts of the sponge to the ink. Make sure that you have stopped injecting, before reaching the top of the sponge or the colour make leak into another sponge. Remember; a little ink goes a long way! The cartridge takes approx 12ml of each colour to fill. Only inject a half of the bottle each refill, and allow to stand while the ink soaks in the sponge.

  5. Wipe the printhead, and return to the printer.
